Ancient Superfoods from the Bazaar
We believe that simple, unadulterated foods are the key to a healthy diet.
All of our ingredients have been around for thousands of years. They served humanity well back then, and they continue to serve us today.
Our rule is simple: if you couldn't find it in the ancient bazaars, you won't find it in any of our bars!

Dates
Dates are the fruit of the date palm, an iconic desert tree native to the Middle East and first cultivated as far back as 7000 BC! This ancient super fruit has an exceptional nutritional profile, boasting high levels of fiber, potassium, magnesium, and antioxidants. Their natural sugars are balanced by their high fiber content, making this mighty little morsel a phenomenal source of energy with a low glycemic index.
Our organic dates are sourced locally from Coachella Valley, CA and do not contain any additives, sulfites, or sweeteners.
Sumac
Originating in Iran, sumac is a ruby-colored wild berry which has been used for centuries as a culinary ingredient and as an herbal medicine. Sumac is an antioxidant powerhouse which may lower inflammation in the body, reduce cholesterol levels, and help regulate blood sugar levels. Not to mention, it has a wonderfully delicate & tart flavor, adding a vibrant zest to any recipe.
We only use 100% pure sumac without any additives or preservatives.

Black Seed
Nigella sativa, or black seed, dates all the way back to 1650 BC in Southwest Asia, Southern Europe, and the Middle East. It has been used for centuries as a natural treatment for many ailments, earning it the title of "panacea", or universal remedy, and also the "Secret of the Pharaohs" in Ancient Egypt. The key component in black seed is called thymoquinone, and while more research is needed, it has been shown to possess promising antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and cancer fighting properties.
Our pure & authentic organic black seed is sourced from Egypt where it is widely cultivated.
Cacao
Cacao was first cultivated around 5000 years ago in Central & South America. It is one of the richest sources of polyphenols, which have powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It is also packed with flavonoids which have been shown to lower blood pressure, improve blood flow to the brain and heart, and help regulate blood sugar.
We use 100% pure and organic cacao sourced from Africa, Central & South America.

Marshmallow Root
Althaea officinalis, or marshmallow root, is a perennial herb native to Europe, Western Asia, and North Africa. It has been used for thousands of years as a natural remedy to treat digestive and respiratory conditions. The healing power of marshmallow root comes from its mucilaginous content, which acts as an enzyme to loosen mucous and fight off bacteria. It has also been shown to create a protective layer in the digestive tract which may help repair gut lining. Marshmallow root has a mildly sweet and nutty flavor, and was actually used to make the very first version of marshmallows by Ancient Egyptians!
Our 100% pure & organic marshmallow root never contains any additives or preservatives.
Cardamom
Cardamom originated in the fertile fields of India before spreading around the world. It has been used in traditional medicine for thousands of years, mostly as a remedy for digestive and oral issues. Cardamom is rich in antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which may protect against chronic disease. It has also been used since ancient times to treat bad breath and kill off bacteria that can cause dental cavities.
We only use real green cardamom in our bars sourced from Guatemala.

Apricots
Apricots are native to China and were first cultivated over 4000 years ago. These delicious fruits are a great source of fiber and antioxidants which aid in gut health and fight off disease-causing free radicals. They are also filled with vitamins C & E which may promote eye & skin health.
Our unsulphured & unsweetened apricots are sourced locally from San Joaquin Valley, CA.
Anise
Pimpinella anisum, commonly known as anise, was first cultivated in Egypt as early as 1500 BC. It was later brought to Europe for its medicinal value, particularly for gastrointestinal and digestive health. Anise is rich in iron, a vital mineral for the production of healthy blood cells. In the culinary world, it is used in many desserts and drinks for its distinct licorice flavor.
We do not use anise oil or extract. Only 100% real, whole anise seeds sourced from Turkey.

Coconut
Coconut is the fruit of the Cocos nucifera palm, native to tropical regions around the world. It is filled with nutrients like manganese, copper, and iron. Though high in fat, much of it is in the form of MCTs (medium-chain triglycerides), which may actually reduce body fat due to the way they are metabolized. Coconut may also help regulate blood sugar and reduce cholesterol levels.
We only use organic, unsulphured & unsweetened coconut in our bars.
Pistachios
Pistachios are the edible seed of the Pistacia vera tree, native to present day Iran and dating back to 7000 BC! These delicious and beautiful nuts are an excellent source of protein, antioxidants, fiber, and notably Vitamin B6, which plays a critical role in cognitive function and protein metabolism.
We use roasted & lightly salted pistachios grown right here in California.

Sesame Seeds
Sesame seeds are native to India and grow in the pods of the Sesamum indicum plant. These oil-rich seeds are packed with manganese, magnesium, and zinc – not to mention they are high in fiber and plant protein, too! Sesame seeds may also protect against heart disease, diabetes, and arthritis.
Our organic hulled sesame seeds are sourced from India and Paraguay.
Almonds
The mighty seeds of Prunus dulcis, commonly known as the almond tree, originated in Western Asia thousands of years ago. These wildly popular tree nuts are high in protein, healthy monounsaturated fats, Vitamin E, and antioxidants. The antioxidants in almonds are mostly concentrated in the brown skin, which is why we never use blanched almonds in our bars.
Our raw almonds are sourced locally from San Joaquin Valley, CA.
